Happy Hunger Games

Finally finished the first Hunger Games book on Tuesday and watched the movie this evening. It was pretty great, Niner and Pheap even liked it! Can't wait to get started on the next book! <3 - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

In Wonderland

Niner and I went to the LACMA on Saturday to see art by North American women Surrealist Artist. It was a treat to see work by artists like Frida Kahlo and Helen Ludenberg.  Las Dos Fridas. We got to see the California Design exhibit with vintage fashion and other objects that probably shaped a lot of the way we live today. I thought Barbie's Dream House from 1962 was pretty great.  We also had a little time to appreciate more modern art..  I'm so lucky to be surrounded by so much culture and to be living in LA where this is all accessible to me. <3 - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

Week 12

After a long work week, it was nice to enjoy a fancy meal at BLT Steak on Sunset. Our friend Richard gathered a few friends for dinner to celebrate his brother, Robin's, graduation from the Police force. Although the main dishes were pretty great (I got the Kobe beef!) we got full pretty quickly on the fun appetizers. They had freshly baked popovers and liver pate for the table, and that double bacon topped with chimichurri was ridiculously delicious. The night sure did kick off a weekend of yummy food with friends and family. This is the reason why I work hard! Bring on another busy work week! - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

Week 11

With no marathon to train for in awhile, I diverted my focus this week to work so I can start payin' those bills and saving! I can't believe that I actually worked SEVEN days straight! It is so not like me to work extra and it took so much out of me to keep going. Yet the more I worked, the more I was motivated. I even started working with Special Procedures to broaden my options.. Specials has been interesting so far. Anything to break the routine in the unit is always nice. I had a taste of working an 8 hour shift, and as you can see by these pictures, it wasn't so bad. I was able to leave the hospital with some daylight left to play with. I picked myself up a treat, baked some treats, and treated myself to some cute times with Nacho.  I haven't thought about shortening my hours any time soon, but I certainly will take advantage of this opportunity for as long as I am motivated. - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

Week 10

Gooooal! We had been talking about it for months, so we finally went to a Galaxy game with Nancy. This was the first game of the season and, at the start, the team was presented the Major League Supporter's Shield award and the game was kicked off with fireworks. Although the team lost to Real Salt Lake, we sat beside the rowdy general admission corner which made it fun, and of course it was also quite entertaining to see Nancy drool over Beckham.  Hopefully we can catch a couple more games this season, and definitely with a better outcome. - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone
