Yosemite Summer Camping Trip

Niner and I went camping together in Yosemite for the first time. I remember how in awe I was of the place when I was a kid and I appreciate it even more this time as an adult. This was the sunset as we were leaving Rosamond and headed to Bishop Thursday evening. We grabbed a quick breakfast at Erick Schat's Bakkery before heading out. These ducks greeted us at June Lake. We went around that loop and stopped at Grant Lake and passed through other tiny lakes in the area. These tufa rock formations at Mono Lake were the most interesting to see and learn about.  On the way to our camp site we marvelled at the scenery at Tuolomne Meadows.  As we got closer to Yosemite Valley, the view got even more amazing. We drove along Lake Tenaya and made a stop at Olmstead Point for our first glimpse of Half Dome.  Finally we made it to our camp site at Crane Flat. Niner cooked our traditional first camp meal of cedar planked salmon. I helped with the cooking (heating) the whit
