The Book of Mormon

Saw The Book of Mormon at the Pantages tonight. Niner has been wanting to see it for awhile now. So glad that they came to LA and we were able to enjoy the musical with our friends. We were all quite entertained. Matt Stone and Trey Parker did not dissapoint. - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

October Birthdays

Every year Lizzi and Randy end up having their birthday celebrations on the same night. Mar and I end up splitting up. This year we were both able to celebrate each of their birthdays. :) We went to what was probably our fourth Oktoberfest for Randy's birthday on Saturday. It was a good time, even for the designated driver like myself. Randy had so much fun that he said it was his best birthday ever, and he remembered nothing the next day! On Sunday we celebrated Lizzi's birthday at the Beduya house. Their parties are almost the only time the family gets together now-a-days. Always nice to catch up with the cousins and see the little kiddies run around. They look forward to these gatherings too. :) Yay for a fun weekend. - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

Week 44: Scarlet Tea Dinner

Fueled by constant day dreams of our planned trip to Paris in December, I was motivated to pick up extra hours this week. After a 53 hr/ 7 day work week, it was nice to shop and catch up with Liz over some Jasmine Green Tea and short rib sliders at the Scarlet Tea Room in Pasadena. Apparently I'm not the only one who has lots to look forward to.. Growing up with my cousin has been like an ongoing tea party. Can't wait to see all the cute in store for us. ;) - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

Week 43: Panit's Baby Shower

October 12 People at work had a little baby shower for Panit, our pharmacist, last week. Like most work events, it was held at Connie's house. It was a cute little gathering and we played lots of games that were new to me. I also got baby bottles that Connie filled up with milk for the drinking game. Panit's friend KC finished all the milk from the bottle first and won, but you can tell by this picture that, win or loose, the participants had fun. Panit had a great time and she was excited about the Hello Kitty humidifier I got her. I don't think she's waiting for the baby to use that gift! Can't wait to meet the little cutie!

Week 42

We were in Phoenix last weekend for Auntie Cayo's service. I think everything worked out just fine. It was nice to meet so many of her friends and coworkers who obviously adored her so. I also met more of Niner's family. It was great how friendly everyone was; I heard so many cute stories about Auntie Cayo. It was a nice celebration of her life. With the service coming together as well as it did, it was easier to relax and enjoy the rest of our weekend. We spent a couple days in Sedona to once more marvel at the amazing rock formations. We took Moo and Shkrinty to L'Auberge for a tasty brunch along Oak Creek to celebrate Moo's birthday. It was a beautiful day and the mallards were entertaining us by floating down the creek. We also did a short hike by Bell Rock and hung out at cute Flagstaff. I'm really happy the weekend worked out so smoothly. <3 - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

Paradise Cove Escape

I've been terrible at posting. And it's been worse since I sprained my ankle a couple weeks ago. Of all the activities I try to keep myself busy with, I hurt myself waking up form a nap! I twisted and sprained my ankle and probably fractured a couple of my toes because I got up not knowing my entire right leg was asleep. I kept my foot iced and elevated for almost a week! Although I got a doctor's note to stay home, I was able to catch up with my shows, and spent lots of time with my puppy, it was horrible being cooped up at home. Finally 6 days after my injury, I got out of the house to rest my foot at a more relaxing, prettier location. Niner took me to Paradise Cove for lunch. I stretched out my legs on the sand as we watched the waves crash and the sea gulls chase each other. I even enjoyed a very delicious cocolada. My foot is still not 100% but when it's healed, I will run like I've never ran before! Dammit! - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

Week 40

I worked all weekend last weekend and have been stuck at home since last Tuesday now (Almost a week!) with a sprained ankle and fractured toes. I'm glad that we had such a pleasant 3 days at work and I was able to end it with a nice dinner. About 20 of us from work had dinner to celebrate the month's birthdays. These gatherings are rare and difficult to coordinate, so it was a surprise that so many of us showed up. We met up after work on Sunday, Sept 23 at Los Toros. A few of us also ended the night across the street at McGees. It's always good to do things outside of the stress at work. Fun night! - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

LA County Fair

It's that time of year again! We went to the LA Fair to see Boyz II Men, Babyface and En Vogue (Niner, Nancy and I missed them thanks to LA traffic.) on September 20. I had seen Boyz II Men before but it was a completely different experience being surrounded by way more people and most our age. I felt like it was the '90's all over again. It was a huge sing-a-long; even the guys were into it which I found amusing. Babyface was also pretty great. He has written so many songs; he sang a sample of most of them. He still had it goin' on. Like he said same baby face and voice even when he no longer had the baby body and baby hair. :) Of course we feasted on some yummy fair food, fried this and that and red velvet funnel cake. Mmm delicious. Til next year! - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone
