Adventures with Lola: Malibu Cafe

Kris and I took Lola on a day out to Malibu Cafe. We had a nice tasty lunch then roamed around the cafe which was my Pinterest dream come true. There were crafty signs, a canopy of umbrellas and a cozy paddle boat that went around the little lake there.    It's always so fun to see Lola enjoy herself. It was a fun little adventure. :)

Memorial Day

At the Memorial Day Dodgers game with my love to end a lovely calm weekend. Thanks to those who have served and sacrificed for us, especially my Niner. <3

Lizzi + Paul's Engagement

Celebrated Lizzi and Paul's Engagement today at Lizzi's house in Saugus. Excited to see them tie the knot in August. I can tell Lizzi's having fun with all the opportunity to be crafty. I can't wait for all the celebrations leading to the big day too! So happy for my cousin!

Head or Heart

We have been hanging around Koreatown a lot lately. The rest of our day yesterday we took a break at Yellow House Cafe to start a new book and enjoy cold drinks. This was a cute little escape from the heat. They had seating at the back patio that was set up like a garden. Then we walked down the street to meet up with the girls for the BIRDY and Christina Perri show. It was a really good show. I mainly went to see Birdy but ended up enjoying Christina Perri as well. Also it was entertaining that Taylor Lautner and Josh Groban were only a few feet away from us in the VIP section.  I treasure these outings when we do more than just eat! ;)

Birthdays Do Last All Month Long

As a gift from the lovely ladies of BHC, Niner got a pair of Dodgers Stadium tour tickets and gift cards to Chego in Chinatown. The stadium tour was so much fun. We learned about Dodgers history, got to see areas of the stadium we normally wouldn't, and we hung out in the dug out.  View from the Vin Scully press box. The golden glove awards. The old visitor's club house. Sitting in the dug out. Now we're spending this beautiful day eating ooey gooey fries, chubby pork belly and tres leches cake. It's always nice when Niner's birthday gift becomes mine too! :)

Short 'n Sweet

We played our last game today in the Short 'N Sweet league. Andy was Beanface's sub. We played better than we have for weeks and we had a good time. This has been a great few weeks where we met lots of people who are pretty passionate about bowling. Glad Niner and I were finally able to do this. I want to move on to something new for awhile, but I will definitely do this again!

American Idiot

The American Idiot musical is in LA this week. Niner and I took the train to Hollywood, grabbed a nice beverage at the W Hotel then went across the street to the Pantages to enjoy a show based on Green Day's album. I have to say that I wasn't too impressed with the story line and as Niner pointed out, the choreography was terrible. However, when you're with great company, listening to music you love, how can you not have a fun evening?! Glad we finally saw it!

Niner's Birthday and Graduation

The day of Niner's graduation from Woodbury University was busy but tons of fun. We started early at the beautiful campus, had our complimentary continental breakfast and watched Niner receive a couple more awards before she walked across the stage for her diploma. Raha, Valerie and Pheap, Randy and Jen, and Ryan and Cheryl, and of course Moo, joined us at the ceremony to celebrate Niner's accomplishments. It was very special to have our friends be there. The fun continued at home. In addition to the graduation festivities, we celebrated Niner's birthday with more friends and family. The Morales family came too, which was nice. We had a graduation Photo Wall, cupcakes, tea cakes, beer, lemonade, pizza and hotdogs, beary jello shots, and the tacos were amazing! Oh and we had a bouncy castle, complete with a slide, for a few hours.  Our favorite party yet to date. So grateful to have so many special

Smarty-pants

It's the morning of Marlaina's graduation. Sitting here with a pretty good row of seats while I wait for Moo, Ryan and Cheryl to grab some complimentary breakfast. Thought I'd take this time for a little post. Attended Woodbury's Honors Award ceremony yesterday afternoon . Marlaina received the highest scholastic achievement award in her Organizational Leadership program.  So proud of my Niner! <3
