Jen's Baby Shower

We hosted Jen's baby shower at our home to celebrate baby Kaya. Showers are always a lot of fun, especially when you have the drinking from a baby bottle game! It was also great to see Jen's sister-in-laws who made the cutest cookie monster favors, her mom made an awesome diaper cake, we met some of her co-workers, and a few of the boys joined in on the fun. Can't wait to meet baby Kaya!
Finally saw Sam Smith at the Forum. He was amazing! <3

Palawan: Underground River

After spending a few days back in Cebu for Sinulog, our saint's day, we headed to Puerto Princesa, Palawan. We stayed at Hotel Centro where they welcomed our arrival with tropical refreshments. We loved how small town and nonindustrial the city was. They thrive from tourism and people from all over coming to see their natural wonder.  We were able to experience that natural wonder of the world during our first full day there. The underground river, and getting there, was amazing. The water was a beautiful, deep turquoise, the rock formations were grand and everything was so green! Palawan prides itself in keeping this part of the Philippines untouched, and we saw that when we were surrounded by all the beauty. The underground river was a wonder to see!

Boracay: Island Paradise

The first time Kris and I were in Boracay was ten years ago. So much has changed in this island; it has gotten so crowded and so touristy. However we can't deny that it is still very beautiful. The sand is so fine, soft and white, the water is so clear, and the people are so friendly. No wonder it's become such a popular destination. The key is finding the more secluded areas to relax and when you want to be more adventurous, there's plenty of actives to keep you busy. We went helmet diving which was something new. It was pretty amazing all the colorful fish you get to see and just from wearing a pressurized helmet. We spent a day at Ariel's point. We were taken out on a boat to the island where we hung out all day, kayaking and enjoying the view. We walked through Station 2 where all the souvenir shops and restaurants were. We found the hotel we stayed at the last time which pretty much had the best mango shake in the world. (I dare anyone to prove me wrong.) We lou

Lola's 80th Birthday Luau

The main reason my family went to the Philippines was to celebrate Lola's 80th birthday. Mom brought Hawaiian decor she had collected in the last few months and we got the venue all decked out. The whole family prepared that morning, set up the tables, hung the decor, and Niner even helped inflate the balloons. My cousin took care of the dessert table and it was so cute. We had a photo wall and a photographer. My mom and aunts, as well as my cousins, danced for Lola and our guests. Proud that mama learned her dance routine pretty quickly, considering she only had a night to practice. Family and friends celebrated with Lola all night. Her youngest brother and his family even came to join us.  It was such a fun night. From the smile glued to Lola's face, you could tell she had a great time too.
