Remembering

As ready as I am to leave behind the misfortune and heartache that was 2010, I want to never forget those who I loved so dearly and lost..

My Lolo (grandfather) was a strong man who will always be remembered as a loving, hardworking person who did everything he could so his family would live a life far better than was ever possible for him. I do believe that until the very end, he fought so he could be with his family. Yet he fought a disease that slowly and continuously weakened him for 10 years. I'm sure he is now at peace, just as he looked when he left us. He was an amazing person and we will all cherish those memories we shared with him. There is not a day that I do not think of you, Lolo. You are missed more than words can express.

The Jadie
??? - July 21, 2010

When The Jadie came into our lives, he was dirty, scrawny, and scared.. but we fell in love with him anyway. He was the sweetest boy and a caring gentleman. He loved to cuddle and he always knew what to do to make you feel better when you were down. On July 21st he was fatally attacked by a Rottweiler while visiting my Lola. Needless to say we were devastated. The Jadie was our first dog and even though he was taken from us, he will always have a special place in our hearts. I miss my precious boy every day.

Loss is inevitably a part of growing older, a part of life. For the New Year, I will strive to live life to the fullest, love with all of my heart, and take in as much beauty as there is that the world can give.

Carpe Diem.

Spring Training

My little family went on vacation this past weekend. Nacho visited his friends at Petsmart and Niner and I went to our third Spring Training in Phoenix. Our first game on Saturday was against the Indians at Goodyear Ballpark. There was a lot of action near the end when the Indians caught up and tied the game. There was a Mister Softee soft serve truck and Niner tried a Guinness Blondie at the beer cart. That is a nice ballpark and we had a cute time. I even got Ethier's autograph on our Cactus League ball.    We had time for a nice hike and dinner after the game. Niner introduced me to Native American fry bread which was delicious. Sunday we started off with a nice brunch at Province downtown. The game was at the Dodgers' (and white Sox) Camelback Ranch. It was a hot, sunny day, but fun nevertheless. It was lovely to get away for the weekend and we did so much! Can't wait for baseball season to start! We got a mini season plan t

Memorial Day

At the Memorial Day Dodgers game with my love to end a lovely calm weekend. Thanks to those who have served and sacrificed for us, especially my Niner. <3

50 in Five

We've been busy over here, planning our epic road trip to all 50 states. We are quitting our jobs, packing away our stuff, and leaving in just less than TWO weeks! It's the trip we've always dreamed of. It feels so right.  We asked my cousin at Lizzi Photography to take photos at our favorite local park to document this moment. It's so special because she knows me so well and knew my vision. Plus we've never had engagement photos done. We also used props we love and that have a story: a blanket Nan crocheted Niner, Auntie Cayo's cameras, my vintage suitcase called Bomanicious..      It was hard to choose, but here are some of my faves.    Unfortunately, Nacho will not be joining us on our trip. Lucky for us, Moo has agreed to keep him for the five months; and he will have the best time there with his friend Teddy. Still, he couldn't help but join in on the fun and take photos with us! We are at 50infive.us  if you want to
