Viva Las Vegas

We spent six whole days at Sin City to ring in 2011.. and let me tell you, we had a great time! We were able to spend time with friends, family, gambled a little, go on an adventure, hear some good music, and ate A LOT!

Nacho cried, he protested, and he even made a desperate attempt to convince me to take him a long. But the trip commenced..

We stayed at Bally's so we did most of our gambling there and at the connected Paris casino where this pic was taken. Notice the cloudy, blue sky behind Niner and Shkrinty.

Shalanna with a delicious burger from Kerry's Gourmet Burgers at Harrah's.

We had our fancy NYE dinner at Fix in the Bellagio. That place was so goood. Four out of six of us ordered the filet mignon. It melted in my mouth it was so tender.

The Berries looking chic and Shalanna with long time friend Eugene.

Mr. B was nice enough to share his fluffy donut dessert.

We then headed over to the Race and Sports book to watch the Lakers game we placed bets on. Ryan and I bet that the Lakers wouldn't win more than 10 points. It was a close game but we won!

Pre-gaming at the hotel room..

Then we headed over to the strip for the countdown and NY celebration.
The Berries ready to party and Eugene with his boxed wine!

I love this picture I took of my faves before the countdown.

(L) Mr. B with his new BFF. It was so much fun to be surrounded by so many people, all gathering to celebrate the new year. Apparently there was some drama later and the cops had to intervene, but we did not come across any of that. Everyone was just having fun. Niner even let Mr. B's new friend give her a kiss on the face (and if you know Niner you'd know that wouldn't happen in any other circumstance! Uh Hmm.. She was drunk!).

First kiss of 2011.

Fireworks at Caesars Palace. We had an awesome view of a few firework shows going on concurrently.

The next day I went to see Boyz II Men at the Flamingo with the Berries.

This was our first BIIM show ever. It was a little cheesy, but so was the '90's! We loved every minute!

Wanye singing "I'll Make Love to You."

Wanye, Shawn, and Nathan (the 3/4 boyz left) performed "End of the Road."

Then showed a lot of energy dancing to "Motown Philly."

We ventured off the strip to try our luck at another casino.
Shkrinty and second guest Marcy at South Point Casino.

We made some time to visit the Hoover Dam, since Niner's been wanting to go there for years.

My family also made a last minute trip to Vegas at the same time. Glad we were able to hang out with my little bro.
Kris had barely gotten to our hotel and he and Niner were already being delinquents. In this pic (L) Niner is re-claiming her coins that were stuck in the vending machine and Kris happily enabling her.

Lounging at the very chic Cosmopolitan Hotel/ Casino.

This was the view at the pool deck of the Cosmo. It was nice there; I want to stay there someday soon!

We ended the night trying to tackle this huge plate of nachos. This may not come as a surprise, but we did not finish.. we came pretty close though!

On the way home we came across lots of snow. This same weekend, it apparently snowed in Santa Clarita. Glad we were able to stop at the Victorville area to have some fun of our own.
Niner got to use her "big gay umbrella."

(L) Shkrinty and Marcy staying warm.
(R) Niner's faceless, mohawked little snowman.

(L) A beautifully snow covered tree.
(R) Snowball!

A wet, muddy road, but a beautiful scene.

Ironically, we ended up stopping at "Caliente" street!

We had such a fun time. This was a great way to begin a New Year which promises lots of adventure.

Spring Training

My little family went on vacation this past weekend. Nacho visited his friends at Petsmart and Niner and I went to our third Spring Training in Phoenix. Our first game on Saturday was against the Indians at Goodyear Ballpark. There was a lot of action near the end when the Indians caught up and tied the game. There was a Mister Softee soft serve truck and Niner tried a Guinness Blondie at the beer cart. That is a nice ballpark and we had a cute time. I even got Ethier's autograph on our Cactus League ball.    We had time for a nice hike and dinner after the game. Niner introduced me to Native American fry bread which was delicious. Sunday we started off with a nice brunch at Province downtown. The game was at the Dodgers' (and white Sox) Camelback Ranch. It was a hot, sunny day, but fun nevertheless. It was lovely to get away for the weekend and we did so much! Can't wait for baseball season to start! We got a mini season plan t

Memorial Day

At the Memorial Day Dodgers game with my love to end a lovely calm weekend. Thanks to those who have served and sacrificed for us, especially my Niner. <3

50 in Five

We've been busy over here, planning our epic road trip to all 50 states. We are quitting our jobs, packing away our stuff, and leaving in just less than TWO weeks! It's the trip we've always dreamed of. It feels so right.  We asked my cousin at Lizzi Photography to take photos at our favorite local park to document this moment. It's so special because she knows me so well and knew my vision. Plus we've never had engagement photos done. We also used props we love and that have a story: a blanket Nan crocheted Niner, Auntie Cayo's cameras, my vintage suitcase called Bomanicious..      It was hard to choose, but here are some of my faves.    Unfortunately, Nacho will not be joining us on our trip. Lucky for us, Moo has agreed to keep him for the five months; and he will have the best time there with his friend Teddy. Still, he couldn't help but join in on the fun and take photos with us! We are at 50infive.us  if you want to
