dineLA

A few weeks ago Niner, Nancy and I took advantage of dineLA. We started with lunch at Tra di Noi in Malibu, a long with Nancy's friend Lalo. The pizza appetizer with truffle sauce that Nancy ordered for appetizer was the best part of that meal. Niner had the filet of sol which was tasty as well. I got the pasta dish and then a marzipan dessert topped with almond sauce which sounded interesting at first, but probably confirmed that I am not a fan of marzipan at all.

The following day we had dinner with Nancy's friend, Gina, at Fogo de Chao in Beverly Hills. Fogo de Chao is great but it is so pricey considering the handful of pretty amazing churrascarias in LA. Their lamb, top sirloin and filet mignon were delicious though, and this place has become a dineLA favorite for me because of the papaya cream dessert. It wasn't part of the dineLA menu, but they were kind enough to make the substitution.

For Week 2, Day 1 of dineLA, we went to Sugarfish by Sushi Nozawa. The fish was just as fresh as the original Nozawa in Studio City. Order the "Trust Me" combo and you wont be disappointed. The sushi is so wonderful it just melts in your mouth!

We conclude our two-week food adventure at Larchmont Grill on Melrose. This restaurant is so cute and cozy, dining there was almost like having a fancy dinner at home. Their crab bisque was the best I've ever had. The desserts weren't too impressive, but the fruit tart Niner ordered was pretty cute.

Can't wait for more dineLA. Til next year! We already have a tentative game plan in the works! ;)

Spring Training

My little family went on vacation this past weekend. Nacho visited his friends at Petsmart and Niner and I went to our third Spring Training in Phoenix. Our first game on Saturday was against the Indians at Goodyear Ballpark. There was a lot of action near the end when the Indians caught up and tied the game. There was a Mister Softee soft serve truck and Niner tried a Guinness Blondie at the beer cart. That is a nice ballpark and we had a cute time. I even got Ethier's autograph on our Cactus League ball.    We had time for a nice hike and dinner after the game. Niner introduced me to Native American fry bread which was delicious. Sunday we started off with a nice brunch at Province downtown. The game was at the Dodgers' (and white Sox) Camelback Ranch. It was a hot, sunny day, but fun nevertheless. It was lovely to get away for the weekend and we did so much! Can't wait for baseball season to start! We got a mini season plan t

Memorial Day

At the Memorial Day Dodgers game with my love to end a lovely calm weekend. Thanks to those who have served and sacrificed for us, especially my Niner. <3

50 in Five

We've been busy over here, planning our epic road trip to all 50 states. We are quitting our jobs, packing away our stuff, and leaving in just less than TWO weeks! It's the trip we've always dreamed of. It feels so right.  We asked my cousin at Lizzi Photography to take photos at our favorite local park to document this moment. It's so special because she knows me so well and knew my vision. Plus we've never had engagement photos done. We also used props we love and that have a story: a blanket Nan crocheted Niner, Auntie Cayo's cameras, my vintage suitcase called Bomanicious..      It was hard to choose, but here are some of my faves.    Unfortunately, Nacho will not be joining us on our trip. Lucky for us, Moo has agreed to keep him for the five months; and he will have the best time there with his friend Teddy. Still, he couldn't help but join in on the fun and take photos with us! We are at 50infive.us  if you want to
