Week 2

My friend, Joseph, and I were on a mission this past summer to hike to as many waterfalls as possible. We had to take a break once the holidays rolled around. On Thursday we hiked again for the first time this year. We hiked Malibu Creek State Park which was pretty leisurely until we decided to create our own trail up the side of a mountain. Always have to go looking for an adventure!

Here's one of the great views on the hike. There was so much to see on a such a beautiful day. We followed the creek pretty much the entire hike. We spotted two deer and watched them gracefully disappear into the woods. There were interesting rock formations and an area for rock climbing. There was also a nice little pond and a lake which clearly reflected the crisp blue sky and surrounding hills. Near the end of the hike, we ran into the old M*A*S*H tv series set site. It was pretty darn cool.

I can't wait to go on another hike. It's a constant adventure and reminder that there's still so much of Los Angeles I haven't seen. In just a few miles drive, you can be in another world, so different from the smog and freeway traffic we're so used to.

Spring Training

My little family went on vacation this past weekend. Nacho visited his friends at Petsmart and Niner and I went to our third Spring Training in Phoenix. Our first game on Saturday was against the Indians at Goodyear Ballpark. There was a lot of action near the end when the Indians caught up and tied the game. There was a Mister Softee soft serve truck and Niner tried a Guinness Blondie at the beer cart. That is a nice ballpark and we had a cute time. I even got Ethier's autograph on our Cactus League ball.    We had time for a nice hike and dinner after the game. Niner introduced me to Native American fry bread which was delicious. Sunday we started off with a nice brunch at Province downtown. The game was at the Dodgers' (and white Sox) Camelback Ranch. It was a hot, sunny day, but fun nevertheless. It was lovely to get away for the weekend and we did so much! Can't wait for baseball season to start! We got a mini season plan t...

Memorial Day

At the Memorial Day Dodgers game with my love to end a lovely calm weekend. Thanks to those who have served and sacrificed for us, especially my Niner. <3

La Banquise, Montreal

La Banquise Rating: πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ πŸ“994 Rue Rachel E MontrΓ©al, QC H2J 2J3 Canada πŸ“ž  (514) 525-2415 Visit: May 6, 2018 Poutine is pretty much anywhere and everywhere in Montreal. Sometimes when you have too many options, it becomes difficult to make decisions (at least that's how it works with me). We chose this place because of the amount of reviews on Yelp.. and it was only A-OK. However, that may be our fault for ordering the "plainer" option. The grand size of "Taquise" seemed like the perfect choice for us. It was topped with tomatoes, guacamole, and sour cream. We probably should have ordered something with lots of meat and gravy, something packed with flavor. But then, I can also argue that anything with guacamole should be amazing. So I give this place a 3/5 rating, but it is worth going back to, especially since they're open 24/7! Make sure you use your google translate and get in the correct line: dine in or take out. There's a line of peop...
