Mama's Vegas Birthday

I managed to be at Las Vegas one last time before the end of 2011. My mom celebrated her birthday last year at Vegas. It was nice to be able to spend some time with the family, even their cute, spoiled puppy, Bugoy.

We stayed at Planet Hollywood which was pretty convenient since the Miracle Mile shops were just down stairs. We dined at Paris (I wish it was Paris really!), enjoyed the pretty Christmas decor at Bellagio and had some birthday dessert and Sugar Factory.

We had dinner at Planet Hollywood our first night there. No lines for us; apparently my dad's a VIP. ;)

Late night birthday treat: red velvet sundae. So delicious!

It was a cute time and glad I had the time off and the chance to celebrate. And its also always special to spend time with my brothers, they're always making me laugh. <3

Spring Training

My little family went on vacation this past weekend. Nacho visited his friends at Petsmart and Niner and I went to our third Spring Training in Phoenix. Our first game on Saturday was against the Indians at Goodyear Ballpark. There was a lot of action near the end when the Indians caught up and tied the game. There was a Mister Softee soft serve truck and Niner tried a Guinness Blondie at the beer cart. That is a nice ballpark and we had a cute time. I even got Ethier's autograph on our Cactus League ball.    We had time for a nice hike and dinner after the game. Niner introduced me to Native American fry bread which was delicious. Sunday we started off with a nice brunch at Province downtown. The game was at the Dodgers' (and white Sox) Camelback Ranch. It was a hot, sunny day, but fun nevertheless. Connecticut!

It's been awhile! We moved to Connecticut so Niner can go to grad school! We've been here for almost 2 months.  So far it's snowed on us four times. Those Nor-Easters were apparently bad this year and lasted until March and April which is not typical. Now it's just raining a lot. We went to one hike at a cool park just down the street from our tiny apartment. There are cherry blossoms everywhere and we found a cute park in New Haven where they were especially abundant. Of course my allergies are acting up. We went to Montreal last week for 3 days which I hope to post about soon. Nacho has been sick since our trip and his stay at the pet hotel. We're in the process of nursing him and his sensitive belly back to normal.  So far it's been different. Mostly we've been applying for jobs. Not much luck yet.
