Kris's Graduation

My baby brother graduated from Van Nuys High School on May 24. It was an evening ceremony with the right amount of pomp and circumstance to move the graduates and cause their families to be emotional, as well. Even Jon was reflecting on just how quickly time had passed as we both simultaneously looked at Papa's graying, thinning head in front of us and Kris in his cap and gown on the field. It's definitely crazy how time has flown by so suddenly these days, but I do prefer and am thankful for happy moments like these to remind me of just how precious and special life is. :)

Our Graduate!!

Today, Jon and I taught Kris how to drive around the neighborhood and I helped him register for his first semester of college. Graduation was definitely a huge milestone, but I can't wait to see what's in store for him from here on. The end of high school may mean the true end of childhood and the beginning of responsible adulthood. Friends maybe lost along the way. But coming from an old fart and a sister almost twice his age, I'm excited for my baby brother because this is when the real fun begins!

Spring Training

My little family went on vacation this past weekend. Nacho visited his friends at Petsmart and Niner and I went to our third Spring Training in Phoenix. Our first game on Saturday was against the Indians at Goodyear Ballpark. There was a lot of action near the end when the Indians caught up and tied the game. There was a Mister Softee soft serve truck and Niner tried a Guinness Blondie at the beer cart. That is a nice ballpark and we had a cute time. I even got Ethier's autograph on our Cactus League ball.    We had time for a nice hike and dinner after the game. Niner introduced me to Native American fry bread which was delicious. Sunday we started off with a nice brunch at Province downtown. The game was at the Dodgers' (and white Sox) Camelback Ranch. It was a hot, sunny day, but fun nevertheless. It was lovely to get away for the weekend and we did so much! Can't wait for baseball season to start! We got a mini season plan t

Memorial Day

At the Memorial Day Dodgers game with my love to end a lovely calm weekend. Thanks to those who have served and sacrificed for us, especially my Niner. <3

50 in Five

We've been busy over here, planning our epic road trip to all 50 states. We are quitting our jobs, packing away our stuff, and leaving in just less than TWO weeks! It's the trip we've always dreamed of. It feels so right.  We asked my cousin at Lizzi Photography to take photos at our favorite local park to document this moment. It's so special because she knows me so well and knew my vision. Plus we've never had engagement photos done. We also used props we love and that have a story: a blanket Nan crocheted Niner, Auntie Cayo's cameras, my vintage suitcase called Bomanicious..      It was hard to choose, but here are some of my faves.    Unfortunately, Nacho will not be joining us on our trip. Lucky for us, Moo has agreed to keep him for the five months; and he will have the best time there with his friend Teddy. Still, he couldn't help but join in on the fun and take photos with us!
