Portlandia Day 1

Our first day in Portland was action packed.

We stayed at Shalanna's "Log Cabin" on our first night in town. We got ready after our wake up call from Peppy.

We finished our left over spicy fish sauce chicken wings from Pok Pok Noi to tie us over. It was still as tasty as it was from diner the night before (our first meal in Portland).

Then Niner and I took the bus down to Old Town Portland and had dinner at a cute/ chic French restaurant called Little Bird. We shared the oyster appetizer, Niner had a veggie sandwich and I had their popular Le Pigeon Burger. I also had a Orange Lavender House Soda which was delicious.

We then headed back north to Alberta Arts District. I saw this unfinished Barbie art piece outside a studio which I thought was interesting.

We then met up with Mikie who's also in town scoping out Portland as his potential new residence. We met up at Barista, had a vanilla latte as Mikie caught us up on his Portland adventures thus far.

Niner spotted this old (still functioning) phone booth on one of our walks to Shkrinty's house. It was a photo-op, of course!

In the evening Niner and I celebrated our 10-year "together" anniversary. She reserved a table for us with an amazing view of Portland and Mount Hood at a distance. The Portland City Grill is on the 30th floor and supposedly has the best view in town! It sure was amazing. There's glass all the way around the restaurant so you can get a panoramic view from all sides. We had a wonderful meal and overall had one of the best dining experiences ever.

We strolled around town afterwards and hung out at the lobby of the Ace Hotel. Then we met up Shalanna and her boss, Tim, at dinner back at Interurban Restaurant/ Bar on Mississippi.

What a fun day! Can't wait to see more!

Spring Training

My little family went on vacation this past weekend. Nacho visited his friends at Petsmart and Niner and I went to our third Spring Training in Phoenix. Our first game on Saturday was against the Indians at Goodyear Ballpark. There was a lot of action near the end when the Indians caught up and tied the game. There was a Mister Softee soft serve truck and Niner tried a Guinness Blondie at the beer cart. That is a nice ballpark and we had a cute time. I even got Ethier's autograph on our Cactus League ball.    We had time for a nice hike and dinner after the game. Niner introduced me to Native American fry bread which was delicious. Sunday we started off with a nice brunch at Province downtown. The game was at the Dodgers' (and white Sox) Camelback Ranch. It was a hot, sunny day, but fun nevertheless. It was lovely to get away for the weekend and we did so much! Can't wait for baseball season to start! We got a mini season plan t

Memorial Day

At the Memorial Day Dodgers game with my love to end a lovely calm weekend. Thanks to those who have served and sacrificed for us, especially my Niner. <3

50 in Five

We've been busy over here, planning our epic road trip to all 50 states. We are quitting our jobs, packing away our stuff, and leaving in just less than TWO weeks! It's the trip we've always dreamed of. It feels so right.  We asked my cousin at Lizzi Photography to take photos at our favorite local park to document this moment. It's so special because she knows me so well and knew my vision. Plus we've never had engagement photos done. We also used props we love and that have a story: a blanket Nan crocheted Niner, Auntie Cayo's cameras, my vintage suitcase called Bomanicious..      It was hard to choose, but here are some of my faves.    Unfortunately, Nacho will not be joining us on our trip. Lucky for us, Moo has agreed to keep him for the five months; and he will have the best time there with his friend Teddy. Still, he couldn't help but join in on the fun and take photos with us! We are at 50infive.us  if you want to
