Portlandia Day 2

On our second day in Portland, Shalanna took the day off and we all (Peppy too) went on an adventure to see Portland's beautiful scenic views. It's amazing that in just a short drive, we were out of the city, surrounded by rivers, lush green hills and snow covered Mount Hood looking majestic from a distance.

Our first stop was Vista House at Crown Point. The view of the Columbia River there was picturesque and it was the nicest, clearest day. Perfect start for our adventure.
Our cute guides.
We then went through the pretty winding roads and stopped at Multnomah Falls. I was amazed that the falls was by the road-side. We didn't have to work to get to it. It almost felt like we were cheating since this was the largest and most epic waterfall I've seen, and I didn't have to hike at all to get there!

We did go to a less crowded trail to hike. Again there was a strong waterfall by the road and we hiked up to Horsetail Falls.

Horsetail was also a very strong waterfall but all the water gushed out from the rocks in a tight falls that it did look like a horsetail. The trail also went behind the falls in a cavelike formation. It was so pretty! There was a great view of the river and all the greenery at that point and at a view point just a few feet further, as well.

After our hike we ended the trip at Full Sail Brewery in Hood River. Niner had the best flight of beer ever: every single sample of beer was just her taste and it was drinkable! We also had the tastiest artichoke dip and I had a beer float.

That evening we had dinner at Saburo's in Southeast Portland. Mike didn't get to meet us for dinner as planned which was a shame because, as you can tell by the picture, the sushi was quite impressive. The cuts of fish were thick and huge and those hand rolls were like mini burritos. It was a pretty great meal. What a value!

Another productive day! I love pretty Portland!

Spring Training

My little family went on vacation this past weekend. Nacho visited his friends at Petsmart and Niner and I went to our third Spring Training in Phoenix. Our first game on Saturday was against the Indians at Goodyear Ballpark. There was a lot of action near the end when the Indians caught up and tied the game. There was a Mister Softee soft serve truck and Niner tried a Guinness Blondie at the beer cart. That is a nice ballpark and we had a cute time. I even got Ethier's autograph on our Cactus League ball.    We had time for a nice hike and dinner after the game. Niner introduced me to Native American fry bread which was delicious. Sunday we started off with a nice brunch at Province downtown. The game was at the Dodgers' (and white Sox) Camelback Ranch. It was a hot, sunny day, but fun nevertheless. It was lovely to get away for the weekend and we did so much! Can't wait for baseball season to start! We got a mini season plan t

Memorial Day

At the Memorial Day Dodgers game with my love to end a lovely calm weekend. Thanks to those who have served and sacrificed for us, especially my Niner. <3

50 in Five

We've been busy over here, planning our epic road trip to all 50 states. We are quitting our jobs, packing away our stuff, and leaving in just less than TWO weeks! It's the trip we've always dreamed of. It feels so right.  We asked my cousin at Lizzi Photography to take photos at our favorite local park to document this moment. It's so special because she knows me so well and knew my vision. Plus we've never had engagement photos done. We also used props we love and that have a story: a blanket Nan crocheted Niner, Auntie Cayo's cameras, my vintage suitcase called Bomanicious..      It was hard to choose, but here are some of my faves.    Unfortunately, Nacho will not be joining us on our trip. Lucky for us, Moo has agreed to keep him for the five months; and he will have the best time there with his friend Teddy. Still, he couldn't help but join in on the fun and take photos with us! We are at 50infive.us  if you want to
