Week 28

I'm probably doing too much if I can't even catch up with weekly posts. But the summer is always busy and fun. So here I am playing catch up...

On July 14th we did one of my favorite things to do on a summer evening: watched a movie at the park. We went to the event hosted by Eat See Hear in San Pedro with Ryan, Cheryl, their co-workers, and Humphrey, of course. What was showing? Pee Wee's Playhouse! I had only remembered seeing pieces of the movie when I was little. My brother Jon used to love Pee Wee and, frankly, his voice turned me off (I'm sure I wasn't the only one.) But this time around, it was hilarious. I had no idea how many popular phrases are in that movie. He's so weird its funny. And it didn't hurt my feelings that food trucks were near by ready to serve up enormous korean style burritos and deep fried chicken and waffles.

I love summer nights!

FEATURED POSTS

Spring Training

My little family went on vacation this past weekend. Nacho visited his friends at Petsmart and Niner and I went to our third Spring Training in Phoenix. Our first game on Saturday was against the Indians at Goodyear Ballpark. There was a lot of action near the end when the Indians caught up and tied the game. There was a Mister Softee soft serve truck and Niner tried a Guinness Blondie at the beer cart. That is a nice ballpark and we had a cute time. I even got Ethier's autograph on our Cactus League ball.    We had time for a nice hike and dinner after the game. Niner introduced me to Native American fry bread which was delicious. Sunday we started off with a nice brunch at Province downtown. The game was at the Dodgers' (and white Sox) Camelback Ranch. It was a hot, sunny day, but fun nevertheless. It was lovely to get away for the weekend and we did so much! Can't wait for baseball season to start! We got a mini season plan t...

Memorial Day

At the Memorial Day Dodgers game with my love to end a lovely calm weekend. Thanks to those who have served and sacrificed for us, especially my Niner. <3

Connecticut!

It's been awhile! We moved to Connecticut so Niner can go to grad school! We've been here for almost 2 months.  So far it's snowed on us four times. Those Nor-Easters were apparently bad this year and lasted until March and April which is not typical. Now it's just raining a lot. We went to one hike at a cool park just down the street from our tiny apartment. There are cherry blossoms everywhere and we found a cute park in New Haven where they were especially abundant. Of course my allergies are acting up. We went to Montreal last week for 3 days which I hope to post about soon. Nacho has been sick since our trip and his stay at the pet hotel. We're in the process of nursing him and his sensitive belly back to normal.  So far it's been different. Mostly we've been applying for jobs. Not much luck yet. As Niner put it, they don't know how awesome we are. The lady who approved us for our apartment at least thought we were great enough to give us a un...
