October Birthdays

Every year Lizzi and Randy end up having their birthday celebrations on the same night. Mar and I end up splitting up. This year we were both able to celebrate each of their birthdays. :)


We went to what was probably our fourth Oktoberfest for Randy's birthday on Saturday. It was a good time, even for the designated driver like myself. Randy had so much fun that he said it was his best birthday ever, and he remembered nothing the next day!


On Sunday we celebrated Lizzi's birthday at the Beduya house. Their parties are almost the only time the family gets together now-a-days. Always nice to catch up with the cousins and see the little kiddies run around. They look forward to these gatherings too. :)

Spring Training

My little family went on vacation this past weekend. Nacho visited his friends at Petsmart and Niner and I went to our third Spring Training in Phoenix. Our first game on Saturday was against the Indians at Goodyear Ballpark. There was a lot of action near the end when the Indians caught up and tied the game. There was a Mister Softee soft serve truck and Niner tried a Guinness Blondie at the beer cart. That is a nice ballpark and we had a cute time. I even got Ethier's autograph on our Cactus League ball.    We had time for a nice hike and dinner after the game. Niner introduced me to Native American fry bread which was delicious. Sunday we started off with a nice brunch at Province downtown. The game was at the Dodgers' (and white Sox) Camelback Ranch. It was a hot, sunny day, but fun nevertheless. Memorial Day

Connecticut!

It's been awhile! We moved to Connecticut so Niner can go to grad school! We've been here for almost 2 months.  So far it's snowed on us four times. Those Nor-Easters were apparently bad this year and lasted until March and April which is not typical. Now it's just raining a lot. We went to one hike at a cool park just down the street from our tiny apartment. There are cherry blossoms everywhere and we found a cute park in New Haven where they were especially abundant. Of course my allergies are acting up. We went to Montreal last week for 3 days which I hope to post about soon. Nacho has been sick since our trip and his stay at the pet hotel. We're in the process of nursing him and his sensitive belly back to normal.  So far it's been different. Mostly we've been applying for jobs. Not much luck yet.
