Staying In

Life has been moving way too fast these days. The only thing keeping me in is being sick. The only thing bringing me to this page is sadness..

Any minute now, my family in the Philippines will begin my Uncle Eddie's funeral services. Even as life continues here, there has not been a day since I found out of his accident that I have not thought of my sweet uncle, my auntie, my cousins and his grand kids. He was kind, caring, and made every situation better with his light-heartedness. I knew that he was a special part of my life, but due to the distance all these years, I didn't expect to be this affected by his loss. But I am. And I love my cousins so. They were my best friends while I was growing up in the Philippines. I can't even begin to imagine how they must feel.

We lost my uncle on June 25 at 52 years old. He left us too soon. This is yet another reminder of how fragile and short life is. I hope there really is something bigger and better after this life, because it all just doesn't make sense.

We'll miss you Uncle Eddie.

Spring Training

My little family went on vacation this past weekend. Nacho visited his friends at Petsmart and Niner and I went to our third Spring Training in Phoenix. Our first game on Saturday was against the Indians at Goodyear Ballpark. There was a lot of action near the end when the Indians caught up and tied the game. There was a Mister Softee soft serve truck and Niner tried a Guinness Blondie at the beer cart. That is a nice ballpark and we had a cute time. I even got Ethier's autograph on our Cactus League ball.    We had time for a nice hike and dinner after the game. Niner introduced me to Native American fry bread which was delicious. Sunday we started off with a nice brunch at Province downtown. The game was at the Dodgers' (and white Sox) Camelback Ranch. It was a hot, sunny day, but fun nevertheless. It was lovely to get away for the weekend and we did so much! Can't wait for baseball season to start! We got a mini season plan t

Memorial Day

At the Memorial Day Dodgers game with my love to end a lovely calm weekend. Thanks to those who have served and sacrificed for us, especially my Niner. <3

50 in Five

We've been busy over here, planning our epic road trip to all 50 states. We are quitting our jobs, packing away our stuff, and leaving in just less than TWO weeks! It's the trip we've always dreamed of. It feels so right.  We asked my cousin at Lizzi Photography to take photos at our favorite local park to document this moment. It's so special because she knows me so well and knew my vision. Plus we've never had engagement photos done. We also used props we love and that have a story: a blanket Nan crocheted Niner, Auntie Cayo's cameras, my vintage suitcase called Bomanicious..      It was hard to choose, but here are some of my faves.    Unfortunately, Nacho will not be joining us on our trip. Lucky for us, Moo has agreed to keep him for the five months; and he will have the best time there with his friend Teddy. Still, he couldn't help but join in on the fun and take photos with us!
