Five Years

Five Years.

It's hard to believe. Saying that time flies would be an understatement. All year I've been amazed at the fact that this is our fifth year as a married couple, and now it has really been a full five years and I'm still amazed! Not amazed that we made it this far, but amazed at how quickly time flies. It's true what they say about when you're having fun..

I'm not going to say that the last five years have been easy. Because they weren't. We both lost loved ones. We lost people we both loved. We miss our first puppy everyday. We've both dealt with more than a handful of stressful situations. School. We left our first home. Work.

Life definitely did not hesitate to throw us a few curveballs.

But we also did a lot of travel, experienced Paris together (for the first time). Laughed. A lot. Shared a love for baseball and the Dodgers. Saw our favorite bands, and in another country. Ate a lot of sushi. Visited the happiest place on earth often. Saw a lot of fireworks. Almost won the Kentucky Derby. Dined LA. I finally ran half marathons. Corona on tap. Niner married off our best friend. New babies in our lives. Hawaii. The first black president in office, twice. Reconnecting with old friends. Making new ones. Finding vortexes in Sedona. Living with the sweetest puppy with the swiggliest booty...

I'm so very lucky to be with someone who's patient and loves me unconditionally. I am far far from perfect, but being with my wife has made me a little bit stronger, a little bit braver, a little bit more confident.

I wouldn't change the last five years. Life happens. The key is to find someone you can count on to experience it with.

With that said, we celebrated our anniversary with a perfect dinner at WP24 in downtown LA. The view was beautiful, the food was delicious and I had the best company. :)

I can't wait to spend a lifetime with you, my love. <3

Spring Training

My little family went on vacation this past weekend. Nacho visited his friends at Petsmart and Niner and I went to our third Spring Training in Phoenix. Our first game on Saturday was against the Indians at Goodyear Ballpark. There was a lot of action near the end when the Indians caught up and tied the game. There was a Mister Softee soft serve truck and Niner tried a Guinness Blondie at the beer cart. That is a nice ballpark and we had a cute time. I even got Ethier's autograph on our Cactus League ball.    We had time for a nice hike and dinner after the game. Niner introduced me to Native American fry bread which was delicious. Sunday we started off with a nice brunch at Province downtown. The game was at the Dodgers' (and white Sox) Camelback Ranch. It was a hot, sunny day, but fun nevertheless. It was lovely to get away for the weekend and we did so much! Can't wait for baseball season to start! We got a mini season plan t

Memorial Day

At the Memorial Day Dodgers game with my love to end a lovely calm weekend. Thanks to those who have served and sacrificed for us, especially my Niner. <3

50 in Five

We've been busy over here, planning our epic road trip to all 50 states. We are quitting our jobs, packing away our stuff, and leaving in just less than TWO weeks! It's the trip we've always dreamed of. It feels so right.  We asked my cousin at Lizzi Photography to take photos at our favorite local park to document this moment. It's so special because she knows me so well and knew my vision. Plus we've never had engagement photos done. We also used props we love and that have a story: a blanket Nan crocheted Niner, Auntie Cayo's cameras, my vintage suitcase called Bomanicious..      It was hard to choose, but here are some of my faves.    Unfortunately, Nacho will not be joining us on our trip. Lucky for us, Moo has agreed to keep him for the five months; and he will have the best time there with his friend Teddy. Still, he couldn't help but join in on the fun and take photos with us! We are at 50infive.us  if you want to
