Ojai Birthday

Niner took me to Ojai overnight for my birthday. We had no idea how close it was and what a nice little get-a-way!
We stayed at The Rancho Inn with its cabin-like rooms and relaxing jacuzzi.
We checked out the farmers market where Niner got me my favorite bouquet of flowers.
We shared a bottle of Victoria at lake Casitas which was pretty despite the drought.
Sadly, since the pool at the Rancho, with teepee and all, was shut down, we hung out at the sister hotel's pool at the Capri.
We had a delicious dinner at Azu that evening and roamed around downtown Ojai.
The next day we biked the long trail behind the hotel that stretched out for most of the town.
We then managed to head back to the pool for a bit then had brunch at Suzanne's. They had a lovely rose garden at their back patio.
So exciting to have such a nice little trip so close to home. Surprised it's taken us this long to see Ojai!
Another amazing year around the sun!

Spring Training

My little family went on vacation this past weekend. Nacho visited his friends at Petsmart and Niner and I went to our third Spring Training in Phoenix. Our first game on Saturday was against the Indians at Goodyear Ballpark. There was a lot of action near the end when the Indians caught up and tied the game. There was a Mister Softee soft serve truck and Niner tried a Guinness Blondie at the beer cart. That is a nice ballpark and we had a cute time. I even got Ethier's autograph on our Cactus League ball.    We had time for a nice hike and dinner after the game. Niner introduced me to Native American fry bread which was delicious. Sunday we started off with a nice brunch at Province downtown. The game was at the Dodgers' (and white Sox) Camelback Ranch. It was a hot, sunny day, but fun nevertheless. It was lovely to get away for the weekend and we did so much! Can't wait for baseball season to start! We got a mini season plan t

Memorial Day

At the Memorial Day Dodgers game with my love to end a lovely calm weekend. Thanks to those who have served and sacrificed for us, especially my Niner. <3

50 in Five

We've been busy over here, planning our epic road trip to all 50 states. We are quitting our jobs, packing away our stuff, and leaving in just less than TWO weeks! It's the trip we've always dreamed of. It feels so right.  We asked my cousin at Lizzi Photography to take photos at our favorite local park to document this moment. It's so special because she knows me so well and knew my vision. Plus we've never had engagement photos done. We also used props we love and that have a story: a blanket Nan crocheted Niner, Auntie Cayo's cameras, my vintage suitcase called Bomanicious..      It was hard to choose, but here are some of my faves.    Unfortunately, Nacho will not be joining us on our trip. Lucky for us, Moo has agreed to keep him for the five months; and he will have the best time there with his friend Teddy. Still, he couldn't help but join in on the fun and take photos with us!
