Kris's Graduation

My baby brother, Kris, graduated last week. It was a proud day for us all, especially for my parents - all three of their kids are done with college. Kris and I are 13 years apart in age, so you can imagine what a momentous occasion this was. With our age difference, I've definitely felt like I've had a hand in raising him. In fact, when we were in high school, Niner and I used to talk on the phone while I fetched Kris his bottle of milk. Crazy, right?

Graduation day was sunny, but beautiful. Cal State Long Beach is a very nice campus. We all cheered as loud as we could when Kris crossed the stage and accepted that piece of paper. We hung out in campus to take pictures and then celebrated with some hotpot for early dinner.

On to new adventures!

Spring Training

My little family went on vacation this past weekend. Nacho visited his friends at Petsmart and Niner and I went to our third Spring Training in Phoenix. Our first game on Saturday was against the Indians at Goodyear Ballpark. There was a lot of action near the end when the Indians caught up and tied the game. There was a Mister Softee soft serve truck and Niner tried a Guinness Blondie at the beer cart. That is a nice ballpark and we had a cute time. I even got Ethier's autograph on our Cactus League ball. We had time for a nice hike and dinner after the game. Niner introduced me to Native American fry bread which was delicious. Sunday we started off with a nice brunch at Province downtown. The game was at the Dodgers' (and white Sox) Camelback Ranch. It was a hot, sunny day, but fun nevertheless. 50 in Five

We've been busy over here, planning our epic road trip to all 50 states. We are quitting our jobs, packing away our stuff, and leaving in just less than TWO weeks! It's the trip we've always dreamed of. It feels so right. We asked my cousin at Lizzi Photography to take photos at our favorite local park to document this moment. It's so special because she knows me so well and knew my vision. Plus we've never had engagement photos done. We also used props we love and that have a story: a blanket Nan crocheted Niner, Auntie Cayo's cameras, my vintage suitcase called Bomanicious.. It was hard to choose, but here are some of my faves. Unfortunately, Nacho will not be joining us on our trip. Lucky for us, Moo has agreed to keep him for the five months; and he will have the best time there with his friend Teddy.
